What is 4-H Camp Timpoochee?

Camp Timpoochee serves the University of Florida IFAS Extension 4-H Youth Development Program by providing outdoor adventures, trained camp staff, supervisory counselors, and a week of fun in a safe and positive environment full of fun and challenge.

Located in Niceville, FL, Camp Timpoochee has access to both fresh and saltwater for fun and learning. Skills that all kids and adults need, such as getting along with others, consideration for those around you and doing your part, will be experienced at camp. Campers assume full responsibility for their cabin and compete for the daily clean cabin award as well as help with dining room chores and general camp chores in a team atmosphere.

We are dedicated to bringing rewarding events and activities for Escambia County youth to participate in as they learn by doing.

What will it be like?

Each day campers can choose what type of group activities they will participate in.

Kayaking, swimming, and archery are just some of the activities youth can participate in while at camp. They will join these “track” groups as well as have county time each day where county staff coordinate the activity.

Free time allows campers to choose other activities such as volleyball, basketball, and softball. Nature trails, open air pavilions, activity fields are available for other activities and games.

At night, campers participate in group activities. Campfires, talent nights, skit performances, and an end of camp party help campers to bond with one another while sharing and participating in entertainment for one another.

At the heart, 4-H summer camp is an educational experience stocked full of engaged learning.
