GCA&NRYO Spring Youth Livestock Show & The FFA Blue Jacket Jamboree

The Gulf Coast Agricultural and Natural Resources Youth Organization exists as an outlet for youth in Escambia County to participate in livestock shows throughout the year. The spring livestock show is organized as a partnership between GCA&NRYO and Escambia County 4-H. The livestock competition is held annually, usually in April. All 4-H and FFA youth from West Florida and South Alabama are eligible to show. Youth are eligible to show from age eight (by September 1, 2015) through the senior year of high school.  (See specific category for additional information- rabbit, lamb and goats) Youth who have worked on a livestock project throughout the year may participate. All youth participants must be GCA & NRYO members. (Individual membership– $20.  Family Membership –$30).  All youth participants must be registered 4-H or FFA members and be in “good standing” with their respective organizations. Stay updated at our website or ask a 4-H agent about how you can get involved in showmanship and livestock demonstrations.

Show Registration

Each animal registration is $5.00, no discount for multiple animals. $10.00 membership fee for rabbits and poultry entries, $3.00 animal registration fee for rabbits and poultry. Cloverbuds have no entry or membership fees.

New member membership fees should be paid with animal registration. Make check payable to GCANRYO.

Please read the Entry Form, General Rules, Official Dress rules, and rules for your animal category (below) carefully. You may also contact the 4-H office with additional questions.

No record books are required for rabbits or poultry. Rabbit showmanship will be paid the same premiums as other rabbit classes. No showmanship event will occur for poultry.

If your bidder is unable to attend the auction, you may have them fill out this sheet: Auction Bid Sheet and bring it to the show. The buyer’s number will be available at 4:30 before the sale. Present this sheet and secure a buyer number for your animal.
