Fertilize Appropriately

Many trees and landscape plants require little to no fertilizer once they’re established and mature. Fertilizers can be hazardous to the health of your yard and the environment if they are misused. Over-application of fertilizer may aggravate insect and disease problems. In addition, excessive growth from excess fertilizer must be mowed and pruned often. Improperly-applied or excess fertilizer can run off from yards into waterways, or leach into aquifers, polluting drinking water and aquatic habitats.
