So you want to see a turtle?

Where can you go to see sea turtles in the Pensacola area?  There actually are several options to try.

Pensacola Beach Fishing Pier

Loggerhead sea turtles are often seen feeding near the new fishing pier on Pensacola Beach.  The following pictures were taken July 28, 2002 from the pier.  It costs only $1 to walk out on the longest pier in the Gulf of Mexico.  In addition to turtles, you may see dolphin, rays, jellyfish, and of course many types of fish, including sharks.  For more information on the pier, including fishing prices and web-cams, click the link above.

Florida's Gulfarium

This aquarium in Fort Walton Beach houses a green turtle, loggerhead turtle, and helps rehabilitate sick and injured turtles for release back into the Gulf of Mexico.  They also have dolphins, sea lions, otters, and other marine life on display.  Click on their name above to visit their website for hours and admission prices.  The pictures below are from July, 2002.
