Health Advisory Issued Again for Bayou Texar

With the rains came low salinities and yet another health advisory for Bayou Texar. We have no sample data for Bayou’s Chico and Grande. Perdido Bay is fine.

 

RED TIDE

The red tide still persist along the southwest coast of Florida but the panhandle is fine.

 

FISH KILLS for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties

The single dead redfish from the last report is the only reported fish kill this month.

 

HEALTH ADVISORIES

BAYOU TEXAR – Enterococcus were 119 colonies / 100ml of water

 

WATER TEMPERATURES

With change in weather water temperatures went back into the 50’s °F

 

SALINITY

LOW… most locations are reporting lower salinity values that normal – rain

 

DISSOLVED OXYGEN

Normal for this time of year.

 

NUTRIENTS

No updates on nutrients this week. You can read about nutrients from 2015 from local waters in the 2015 Water Quality Report. Again, just let me know if you would like a copy. Roc1@ufl.edu
